Tip #22: Remember whose you are
November 11, 2007 – 8:56 pm
Youth ministry is pretty high velocity. Planning time. Office hours. Trips. Events. Small group. Large group. Staff meeting. Bible study. Shop for supplies. Meet with parents. Clean the youth room. Hang out time with students. Games. Lunch. Breakfast. Committee meetings. Clean out the van. Save receipts. Lose receipts. You know the routine, right? If your students are watching you (and they are), are they seeing the kind of disciple of Jesus your teaching says they should be?
Youth ministers give sacrificially in every way, but one of them isn’t a good thing. We get wrapped up in all of the above and we neglect the very One who is the reason we can do anything good at all.
Take some time today to sit with God, to rest in Jesus, to listen to the Spirit and remember Whose you are.
